Blending performance footage\, personal interviews\, and archival film\, Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville explores the personal journeys of a small group of Silk Road mainstays in his acclaimed documentary The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble\, a vivid portrait of Ma’s bold musical experiment and a global search for the ties that bind. \nThis screening will include a talkback with tabla virtuoso Sandeep Das\, an original member of the Silk Road Ensemble. \nIn collaboration with The Triplex Cinema and Berkshire International Film Festival.

When a treaty transfers the land from Spain to Portugal\, Mendoza and Gabriel resolve to defend the mission from Portuguese slave traders — but find themselves divided on how to do so while honoring their vows.
