Interview with Mark Pedrotti – Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing
How did you first get involved with BIFF and what was it like in the beginning?
I got involved with BIFF over 10 years ago, creating that partnership between BIFFMA and Berkshire Bank. From the very beginning, BIFFMA has allowed us to create amazing programs over the years to enhance the partnership and allow our Berkshire customers a great connection to the festival.
What has your experience been like over the years with BIFF?
It’s my #1 favorite event in the Berkshires, year in and year out. BIFFA has the best people to work with and always delivers a quality festival.
How have you seen the community grow and gather over the years with BIFF?
The simple answer, we started from nothing, and over 10 years we’ve built up something great. Most specifically, the Next Great Filmmaker Award. This award was designed to provide increased exposure and support for short filmmakers as well as to engage our communities to watch and vote for their favorite short films. The Next Great Filmmaker Award includes a $2,500 cash award given to the filmmaker who has the greatest amount of online votes.
What has been your fondest or most special memories of collaborating with BIFF?
So many memories. But, from a personal level, working with Kelley and Lauren has been the greatest part of this journey. They are the best of the best, and this festival wouldn’t be what it is without them leading the charge… (My close second fondest memory is meeting the GOAT Martin Scorsese)
