Joly is one of the founding fathers of the natural wine movement known as biodynamics. Set upon the stage of his Loire Valley vineyard, “The Lucid Poet” illuminates the wisdom, warmth, and passion of this winemaking legend.

Le Poète Lucide directed by Keith Aumont, will feature a Q&A and wine tasting from the director and Mary and Ben Daire of Dare Bottleshop & Provisions in Lenox and Great Barrington immediately following the screening.

Tickets are $40 ($35 for BIFF REEL Friends) and include film screening, Q&A, wine tasting and nibbles.

BIFF Environmental Film Focus

BIFF has a long history of presenting high-quality environmental documentaries. With the impacts of the climate crisis starting to be acutely felt in the Berkshires, artistic director Kelley Vickey and program consultant Lillian began to explore the possibility of making the Environmental Film Focus a permanent ongoing feature within  BIFF’s year-round programming.

The Environmental Film Focus allows people to come together in the community and engage with environmentally-based stories, strategies, and actions. Our objective? To build a more deeply resourced, connected, and resilient community capable of responding to the many dimensions of the deepening environmental emergency with creativity and competence. 

The Berkshire-based Roaring Brook Family Foundation will provide a $500 stipend to filmmakers for selected documentaries, as well as funds to cover all marketing and event costs.
