The Berkshire International Film Festival is very pleased to announce our official collaboration with the Tanglewood Learning Institute at the Linde Center this summer.
This is a brief description of this new series:
Cinematics inspires you to explore the unique relationship between music, cinema, and the human spirit through a curated series of films that will expand your perception of classical music and provide emotional depth to your concertgoing experience and your life. For example, Verdi’s Requiem takes on new meaning when followed by Defiant Requiem, an acclaimed documentary about the performance of the piece by Jewish prisoners at Theresienstadt, the Nazi concentration camp. Similarly, a performance of Bach cantatas at Ozawa Hall is complemented by a screening of Tous les Matins du Monde, which explores the life of Bach’s contemporary, the composer Marin Marais. Cinematics is presented in collaboration with the Berkshire International Film Festival.
