March 4 – Great Barrington: The Berkshire International Film Festival today announced NEW dates for the upcoming 15th festival. The event, which was to take place June 2 – 5, is now scheduled to take place September 9 – 13, 2021, with an added day to the normally weekend-long event. “As an organization, we feel optimistic that by September, as the vaccination process will be expanded and far spread, and with all necessary safety precautions including an extra day to spread out the festivities, an in-person event will likely be possible. We are incredibly excited to announce these new dates, in the hopes we can all gather safely together,” said Berkshire International Film Festival artistic director Kelley Vickery. “We of course will continue to follow the experts and science and continue to evaluate the pandemic in relation to health, travel, and live events, but in the meantime at BIFF central, we are busy planning, programming and organizing for a hybrid festival including in-person screenings, drive-ins and virtual screenings and events.” More information, venues, screenings and event details to follow.

In addition to the new festival dates, BIFF is very pleased to announce the appointment of David Tochterman as Executive Director. David brings his extensive experience in the digital world as well as his expertise in the film and television industry.

“We are so pleased to add David Tochterman to our BIFF family,” said BIFF board chair Pat Fili-Krushel. “Given David’s deep roots in the entertainment business, we couldn’t have found a better person to partner with Kelley as we navigate the new world of content distribution and kick off an exciting new era of growth for BIFF. Additionally, I would like to thank all of our sponsors and patrons who have continued to support the BIFF during this trying year.”

David is an Emmy-nominated media executive, producer and entrepreneur with a track record of building successful content driven businesses. He has been a pioneer in content and strategy for digital media since the earliest days of YouTube, and has closed financing for two media companies. He is CEO of Canvas Media Studios, a venture capital financed production studio and distributor for television, film and digital/social platforms. Previously, David was a digital strategy consultant for ABC, PBS and Starz, and founded Innovative Artists Digital Media, one of the first talent agency digital divisions. In television, David has developed and produced programming for all television networks, and worked on hit series’ that have won over 20 Emmy Awards and Nominations.
