Howard Arkans, MD graduated from Stanford University in1967 and Stanford Medical School in 1970. He practiced Pediatrics for 20 years and then was in medical management for 13 years retiring to the Berkshires in 2003. He has had a keen interest in film since his grandmother took him to see The Jazz Singer (Danny Thomas remake) in 1953 in “Downtown Philadelphia”. In retirement he has taught film for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College for twelve years. He has also been a supporter of BIFF since its inception and looks forward to curating the Auteur Film Series in 2024.
